On Saturday, July 12th at 10am, an exceptional event took place on the banks of the Seine, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The Splash company took on an ambitious challenge by presenting an artistic swimming show directly in the famous Parisian river.

More than 200 spectators gathered to admire this unique moment, blending aquatic feats with a French cabaret atmosphere. This article looks back at this extraordinary performance, organized by the City of Paris, 2 Frangins Productions, and the Beaugrenelle shopping center , which marked the opening of the Seine River Swimming Festival.

A natural scene in the heart of Paris

The Seine, usually known for its boats and historic bridges, was transformed into an aquatic stage to host six professional artistic swimmers. Swimming in a river with a current presents a considerable technical challenge. The Splash company skillfully took advantage of this natural setting, offering a vibrant and dynamic performance, perfectly in harmony with the iconic scenery of the river.

The quays were packed, proof of the enthusiasm generated by this initiative. Young and old alike enjoyed a moment of poetry and lightheartedness, while rediscovering the Seine from a new perspective. The show, Idylle , blending elegance and strength , captivated the audience with its fluid choreography inspired by French cabaret.

The technical challenge of artistic swimming in the Seine

Swimming in a calm, heated pool is one thing; moving through a river with a current is quite another. The Splash company had to adapt its techniques to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the show . The swimmers trained beforehand to master the water's resistance and synchronize their movements despite the changing current.

Thanks to our sound system partner, Fase , our swimmers were able to hear the sound properly underwater to be together , thanks to their underwater speaker.
